Weber Vacuum cooling in IFTF 2026

Fast core cooling for better flower quality

Weber Vacuum Group designs and builds vacuum cooling systems for flower farms, exporters, importers and logistics hubs.

Vacuum cooling removes field heat quickly and evenly, from the core of the product, not only the outside. This helps flowers enter the cold chain at the right temperature, reducing quality loss during storage, transport and export.

Meet Weber Vacuum Group at IFTF 2026

Visit us at the International Floriculture Trade Fair 2026 to discuss vacuum cooling for flowers and cold chain operations.

Event: IFTF 2026 – International Floriculture Trade Fair
Date: 3–5 November 2026
Location: Expo Greater Amsterdam, Vijfhuizen, The Netherlands
Stand: B5.20

Our team will be available to discuss your cooling process, product flow, capacity needs and the right system configuration for your operation.

Why pre-cooling matters

After harvest, flowers remain active. They continue to respire and transpire, which increases heat, moisture and stress inside boxes and sleeves.

Proper pre-cooling helps reduce:

  • Wilting
  • Botrytis risk
  • Ethylene production
  • Premature ageing
  • Poor flower opening
  • Stem bending
  • Quality claims after transport

Why vacuum cooling

Conventional room cooling can take hours and may not cool the center of packed boxes or pallets effectively.

Vacuum cooling is different. It reduces pressure inside the chamber, causing a small amount of moisture in the product to evaporate. That evaporation removes heat from the product, cooling flowers quickly and evenly from the inside.

Key advantages

  • Fast cooling to the core
  • Uniform temperature across boxes and pallets
  • Less dependence on airflow through packaging
  • Suitable for tightly packed flower boxes
  • Lower cold chain risk before export
  • Better logistics flow at farms and hubs

Vacuum cooling can cool many flower loads down to 0–5°C within 15–30 minutes, depending on product and process conditions.

Built for farms, exporters and logistics centers

At the farm

Vacuum cooling gives flowers a controlled start to the cold chain. Depending on the operation, flowers can be cooled after hydration or after packing, before storage or shipment.

At logistics hubs

Flowers can warm up during long-distance transport. Vacuum cooling helps bring consolidated shipments back to core temperature quickly at airports, import hubs and distribution centers.

For high-volume operations

Weber offers compact, modular and high-capacity systems for pallet, trolley and aircraft-pallet cooling applications.
